Thanks to everyone who has answered our call for volunteers. Volunteering at WordCamp is a wonderful way to give back to the WordPress community. Plus, it’s a great way to make new friends. We really appreciate your commitment.
WordCamp Riverside cannot happen without the help of friendly volunteers like you.
In exchange for becoming a volunteer you’ll receive a free ticket to the event and be provided lunch on both days. A gnarly volunteer t-shirt, an invitation to the speaker/sponsor dinner, our sincere gratitude and of course the adoration of the attendees.
Volunteer Duties
We will all share responsibility for the following tasks, and if your abilities mean one task is more fitting than others, we can certainly try to accommodate.
Thank you for making yourself available on November 3rd & 4th from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Registration – Greet conference attendees at the registration booth and provide them with their conference badge.
- Swag table – Distribute and stock the awesome swag items!
- Presentation room attendees – Help speakers set up and make sure everything runs smoothly in the presentation rooms. Monitor time for speakers.
- Setup and tear down – All volunteers will be expected (unless otherwise determined) to help set up and tear down the conference materials both Saturday and Sunday.
- General help – Be an information resource for attendees, and know where to route any questions you can’t answer. Help oversee the event to ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Code of Conduct – We invite all sponsors, volunteers, speakers, attendees, and other participants to help us realize a safe and positive conference experience for everyone.
Things to Note
You will NOT be able to attend many of speaker sessions. Please don’t apply if you simply wish to attend the WordCamp as an attendee, or if attending sessions is a priority. There are limited volunteer positions available not everyone who applies may be accepted… However, applying early is encouraged and improves your chances of becoming a volunteer.
